Welcome to the dedicated website for Outside In’s work around collections of patient created artwork.
Since 2014, when Outside In delivered the Graylingwell Heritage Project, the charity has been involved in championing, discovering, cataloguing, interpreting and showcasing art work created by patients historically housed within psychiatric hospitals all across the UK.
This website brings together four key projects that have contributed to the charity’s interest in working with collections of patient created artwork.
These projects include:
- The Graylingwell Heritage Project (2014 and 2015)
- Step Up: Exploring Collections courses with the Wellcome (2017 and 2018)
- The Vawdrey Archive Project (2018 and 2019)
- Patient Artwork: New Dialogues (Current)
