I am an acclaimed disabled/visual artist challenging the notion of identity within contemporary portraiture, often creating portraits of high profile disabled and diverse people during live sittings in high profile public art galleries and venues.
There are several other re occurring themes in my work including LANDSCAPES – CATS – ARTISTS – PORTRAITS. These are constant themes in my work and often challenge the way we see, experience and perceive the world around us. The communication of narrative invites the viewer to experience what is not always apparent in the composition. This leads the viewer to a sign, a place, another time or a moment of contemplation. A sign of inclusion, identity, and intersectionality are the foundation of my life therefore my art. These paintings reflects these themes on many multiple levels.
I use a mixture of traditional and digital painting and drawing techniques, often fusing the two together in an interactive live environment, inviting physical and online audiences to join in.
