I am an emerging socially engaged activist poet who also uses photography. I am an associate artist with Disability Arts Online, Poet in residence at Hornsey Town Hall facebook Group, facilitator of a poetry group at The Highgate Society and Curator of poetry events at Collage Arts.
My work is about my personal experience of disability, a response to the social model of disability and ideas of forming and working with communities. I am a leader and a participant. Join in.
My Art Practices changed during lock down when faced with white walls minimal furniture I played with light and shadow and then through encountering @LizAtkin’s #texturehuntergatherer I moved into colour and texture before re-engaging with personal experience of disability and developing concepts around identity, anonymity and disguise. Increasingly these themes merge together.
I still actively engage in disability politics, long to practice my documentary work again and have a neat little collaboration going on with Charlet Wilson who illustrates my poetry https://www.artconnect.com/profiles/dread-rhymes/projects/dread-rhymes-in-a-time-of-chaos
