This is the first panel of a triptych (Rendezvous West Dean) focusing on the landscape and surrealist legacy of West Dean College and the Edward James Archive and my imaginative response to both.

Media:

The painting is only part done and is presented with the original sketch filling in the background details. The work in progress is currently framed this way to highlight the materiality of the media I work in. By showing the work in progress, you see my original oil painting on glass, from the front, with a shadow where the painted image floats above the sketch.
