I have only been able to develop the confidence to express myself through art in the last three years. A local printmaking exhibition inspired me to join the printmaking collective through Hull College, where I became a screen printing addict. I later tried lino cut, and my work here is naive at best, but I continue to experiment. Never having wielded a paint brush, I joined Feral Arts and found confidence and colour. The same year I also made my driftwood sculpture of a life size horse head, the image of which I still use in many ways, and which Hedon Museum recently used in their advertising.
I love recycled and re-used, found or given, and try to work as planet-friendly as I can. My old treadle machine in my outside shed (no electricity) makes my clothes, journals and cards, and a walk by the tideline provides daily treasures, driftwood, sea glass and more.
