Changing of the Guards and Shipmates

By Kevin Preston

Width: 100cm Height: 180cm

From the artist:

The paintings  medium was done in Hamerite paints on a large sheet of acrylic, for weatherproofing.
It shows the Royal Navy changing the Guard inside Buckingham Palace. The Royal Navy are a big part of Plymouth where I was born and I also served in the Coldstream Guards in the early eighties who the navy are changing the guard with. I also did Public duties and ceremonial duties at Buckingham Palace, Tower of London and St James Palace. So the painting is really significant to myself and the place I was born.

This Painting went up  in Union Street Plymouth right by the Two Trees Pub which was a famous pub for everyone, but a lot of service men and women drank there. I’m chuffed to Naafi breaks my painting can be seen their and a big thank you to Plymouth  for allowing this to happen, there are also other works of art by a group of Artist called Plymouth Artist Together PAT for short, other artworks  can be seen in Plymouth. Milbay docks. Vallatort road, union street, stone house , these are just a few places to brighten up a this great city, I shall be doing some more very soon. Hope you enjoy the art work.Thank you 💂💂👨‍🎨👨‍🎨
