The inspiration for this series of art works perhaps can be related to a childhood memory of camping up the River Nile in East Africa as a child with my family .Some of the tales of seeing the crocodiles slide into the Nile as the boat rocked from side to side and my sisters and I excited to see the wild animals clung to the side of the small boat. These magnification magical experiences you never seem to forget . Despite the dry and dusty roads and getting trapped in dry riverbed sand getting the Africans to help push the car out of the dry river beds. Getting chased by the Rhino and looking out of the back of the car excited , with the Exhibition At the Royal Academy of Art one also can R.E.M. the difficult times fondly.
