the painting is one of a series of art works Titled “The Larks ascending “ inspired by the natural world of birds and the climate change . Originally the music of Vaughan Williams who lived in Surrey and the poetry by Meredith, Severn years later wrote a Romance for violin 🎻 and Orchestra in which the violins climbing thrills and bursts of melodies represent the Lark song in sounds .my painting draws reference from two artists John Piper and Eric Gill , the Wood Larks and sky Larks rise to the moods and hues of the changing sky’s and the Sussex landscapes, that I roamed and sketched as a younger Artist and have upcycled my ideas and work of then!
Love the work music and environment Sussex.
