From the artist:
I am working outside a lot during the summer and have been making some plein air sketches of local landscapes.I do the sketches in pencil, charcoal and liquid graphite or sometimes chalk pastel.
I will look through the sketches and work out my feelings for my subject.In this case a view of my local town could be divided into three or four parts to work on separately.Each part can then be re worked abstracted or looked at at in a different way using another material perhaps.
I have chosen to some abstracts of the buildings and layout of the town in oil pastels which in turn allows my to really enjoy making colours.
