From the artist:
Usually I do not attach meaning when I take a photo. I see something which catches my eye and it goes click. This was taken with my phone, walking along Lewes High Street, the orange curtains, the painting & mirror caught my gaze. Once I took it I realised it is telling my story. I am looking into a mirror of an art shop. Through the window I can see the crown court building in the background, where I spent 14 years of my life as a student and PhD researcher. It used to be my place of work, a place of emotions & now it has become a place of memories. The court building, like no one else knows all my secrets, it will keep them in its walls ~~~~~~~~~my body is turned away, I have moved on. And there in front of the image is a framed piece of art, my gaze is turned towards it.. But yet there is still some connection with what has gone. I am on a journey as an emerging artist, equipped with the discipline & self- organisation of a socio -legal scholar.
